Plants and Animals Taxonomists are graduates of Bachelor’s Degree Biology, Zoology, Ecology, Botany, Forestry or equivalent.

Plants and Animals Taxonomists may gain experience and training in universities, government agencies, research companies, museums, zoos, environmental organizations and consulting firms. They may advance as research managers, lecturers and become faculty heads. They may also opt to be self-employed and establish their own research firm.
