Soil Scientists are graduates of BS in Environmental Science, Engineering (Chemical) Engineering (Industrial), Engineering (Mechanical), engineering (Environmental/Heath/ Safety), Engineering (Bioengineering/ Biomedical) or equivalent. At least 3 – 5 years of working experience in the related field is required.

The tuition fee in private colleges and universities for BS in Environmental Science/ Environmental Planning and Management or equivalent ranges from P36,000-P70,000 per semester while SUCs offer courses free of tuition or minimal fees per semester.

Soil Scientists may gain experience and training as Agricultural scientists, Agriculturists, Agronomists, Arboreal scientists, Crop nutrition scientists, Horticulturists, Soil fertility extension specialists. They may pursue a career in Research and Development in agribusiness or be an active member of the academe as a Lecturer.
