Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields will be helpful in order to become an Instructional Designer. Education, Psychology, Computer Science, Multimedia Arts are for most entry-level positions

Technical Skills: Strong foundation on Learning Management System Tools, Course Development Softwares, Course Authoring and Learning Tools, or Authoring Software Application and Technologies.

Soft Skills: Communication Skills, Analytical and Problem-solving Skills, Multi-tasking Skills, Planning and Organizing Skills and Team Work Skills.

By virtue of Republic Act 10931, undergraduate students accepted to SUCs are covered for free tuition and other school fees

Instructional Designers usually work in training or education institutions and/ or training departments in different industries where they create and develop training materials. They also support initiatives dealing with continuous improvements, growth, and development within their institutions.

Advanced degrees such as MA or PhD will be very helpful in advancing your career. Such degrees will be very beneficial in expanding professional practice most especially as consultant, researcher or academician. Educational institutions in the country offering graduate studies programs on Curriculum and Instruction Curriculum, Education Technology, and Curriculum and Teaching, if one is interested in taking up graduate studies.
